OK, so they are nice dolls. They have the same bodies with limited articulation as the original Lammily. The outfit is rather frumpy in my opinion and the shirt seems to be on backwards. I had heard that the delay in getting this doll out was due to waiting for the camera. Well, I was not impressed with it. The camera in the prototype photos had much more detail. It had details colored in gray. The production camera is all black and the straps slip through very easily.
When the original Lammily was released, there was a lot of discussion and feedback to Lammily about the limited articulation and the doll's inability to sit gracefully. Lammily responded that they would be working on the articulation and on making her joints more flexible so that she could sit more gracefully. I am disappointed to see that they have not changed a thing.
Below is a closer look at both dolls heads:
Thanks for stopping by! I love getting your comments.
These are gorgeous photos, Phyllis! I agree with you that your dolls look slightly different.
ReplyDeleteThe hair is definitely different! The face I am still not sure about. This one looks happier that the first Lammily! I do like that the palms of their hands and bottom on their feet are lighter in color as this is more realistic. All in all, I am happy to have her in my collection.
DeleteI'm not completely drown to the Lammily dolls, but not because of their bodies, because their faces seem a little bit bland to me, specially the first doll. I do like the outfit, specially the skirt.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks!
DeleteThese dolls are cute and did tempt me. But I am too spoiled with articulation now. I think sometimes companies just need to get things to market, so they do a little, but maybe not enough.
ReplyDeleteYes, since Mattel came out with the MTM bodies, I too am totally obsessed with the articulation they offer. Too bad Mattel doesn't put the MTM articulation on the fashionistas! I could have saved a whole lot of money!
DeleteCongrats on getting your ladies. I have mine, and I really like her. Even though she has limited articulation, she is so much better than the curvy body to me. Mattel could have at least given us click knees. They gave us no articulation! I also like that the Lammily dolls have removable hands and feet that make it very easy to put her clothes on. I hope to start making some clothes for mine this weekend.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I do like her. I also wish the Curvy body had at least the click knees. Hopefully, we will get them with articulation soon as we have seen in the Barbie Style photos that Mattel teases us with.
DeleteI think you're right - these two do look a little different. They almost remind me of two identical twin sisters I know who had very different lifestyles and ended up looking not-quite-identical.
ReplyDeleteI think I will make them twins!
DeleteFull disclosure: I am not a Lammily fan. That said, I do think this doll is more attractive than the first one they put out. The two dolls do look slightly different which doesn't bother me (perhaps they are sisters!?!) I have 2 sets of SIS BabyPhat Barbies. There is a slight difference in their faces (around the eyes). The outfits, from your photos, also seem to be an improvement as well. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I turned the shirts around so they fasten in the back and that looks much better.
DeleteThey do look different! The clothing does make her look older. Like she wouldn't be Barbie's friend but Happy Family grandmother's friend. I don't know about that palm and bottom of the feet thing. It like electronics on a car. The more you have the more to go wrong! Paint on the top of the foot or hand. I don't know if I will buy one now that I have a curvy barbie. We will see!
ReplyDeleteI did order them a very long time ago before the Curvy Barbie came along. I also did the crowd funding for the Lammily guy. Right now, they say he will come out in November.
DeleteI'm old fashioned myself, so I quite like her outfit. It reminds me of clothing from the 50's actually.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like something I would wear, but probably not if I was 19 like Lammily is supposed to be. I don't hate the outfit, I just think it is more fitting for someone a little older.
DeleteRóżnorodność w zbiorze jest bardzo potrzebna. Inne twarze, sylwetki, ubrania, buty. Poznajemy nowe lalki i to jest fajne! Jedne podobają się nam bardziej a inne mniej. Te są bardzo ciekawe i sympatyczne! Bardzo podobają mi się ich kręcone włosy!
ReplyDeletePozdrawiam Cię serdecznie!
Thanks! I agree that having this kind of variation in my collection is a good thing.
DeleteI do prefer this Lammily to the first one but ... maybe I'll wait for the third model and see if they improve the articulation. But if Curvy Barbie comes out with articulation, that would be great.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so hoping Curvy Barbie comes out with articulation. Barbie Style on Instagram has certainly been teasing us with photos of them!
DeleteCongrats! I've been considering ordering this Lammily, I think she is the prettiest so far, but she still lacks some grace or charm.
ReplyDeleteShe definitely has a happier look to her than the first Lammily!
DeleteCongratulations on the dolls. You do notice a difference but that's what makes them unique. I think this company is doing great things and I haven't decided if I am going to order the Lammily guy just yet but he is on my radar.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brini! I participated in the crowd funding for the guy. He is supposed to be out in November!
