The IT Super Model Convention - We Are Back (Part 1)!

We are back from the IT Super Model Convention in  Chicago, IL!  We left Wednesday afternoon after Hannah got home from school. We ended up driving through a couple of torrential rainstorms, so it took us closer to 6 hours to get there. The Convention was actually in Rosemont, which is a suburb of Chicago and about 45 minutes from Chicago by train. This was a little disappointing because Hannah had wanted to do a little sightseeing in Chicago. If we had realized this ahead of time, we would have either left a day earlier or taken an extra day off. However, we both had a good time at the Convention, so we were still very happy that we went.

One of the highlights is that on the last day, we were able to find Georgia Girl, who was also at the Convention! She is a very sweet lady. I didn't have my camera or phone on me when I stopped at her table, so I didn't get her picture, but her friend at the table did take a picture of us all together. So, Georgia Girl, if you don't mind on sending me a copy of that photo, I would love it! I also met a couple of my Flickr friends and a whole bunch of new people.

What was very interesting was that our Table Host, Rhonda, was also from Michigan. Since we are also from Michigan, we thought it was quite a coincidence!

Without further delay, I will post some of the photos we took at the convention. I will probably split the posting of photos up a bit, so there will probably be at least two posts on this!

Convention Registration, Wednesday night

The welcome doll was received at registration. She was in a pretty big box with lots of extra space, so you knew that more was coming!

The first event was the Welcome Dinner which was on Thursday evening. It was a Poppy Parker event. They introduced the theme for the 2017 Poppy line, which will have a 1990's Model theme. We did not see any of the dolls that would be offered, but they did share photos of models from that era that would be used for inspiration (such as Twiggy!).

Isn't she pretty?! My number was drawn to get an opportunity to purchase her and I did! We also received Look 2 for Tulabelle:

We also got a free doll, which was another Poppy Parker. This all exceeded my expectations!

Welcome Dinner Gift Doll: "Big Eyes Poppy Parker"
Well, that is all for now. I will tell you about the 2nd day, Friday, October 14  (which was my shopping day!) in the next post. There will be lots of photos in that one 'cuz I did purchase a few dolls!

  1. Hello Phyllis! I'm so happy you had a great time at the convention. Since most of the people I interact with on blog world are from United States, I won't probably ever met them in person, so I think it's great you and Georgia Girl met. I wish I could meet some of you! I don't collect Integrity Toys dolls, but I would love to get one Poppy Parker one day.

I can't wait to see more photos!

    1. Yes, it was so nice to be able to meet Georgia Girl. She was actually my first blog follower too! I did not think I would ever get to go to an IT Convention, but I did it! I also never thought I would like the Poppy Parker line so much, but she is awesome! I processed some more of my photos, so I will be doing another post tonight or tomorrow!

  3. Well I must say, I have been waiting on this post. Yes, I can read Strato's "Inside the Fashion Doll Studio" blog or IT's own accounts, but I really wanted to see the convention through the eyes of a first time convention goer. You are sooo lucky to have been able to go and you are doubly lucky you were able to share this with your daughter and you are triply lucky to have been in a fairy tale like environment with lots and lots of beautiful dolls and wonderful dolly people. So now I'm counting your loot for day one and I see you accumulated 3 new dolls and an outfit just on the first day! I'm excited for you!!!! Cannot wait to see part two!!!!!

    1. Haha, it was a lot like a fairytale! I also know I made some new friends too. It was so nice to be able to talk to people who really get you. And, of course, they all loved my daughter, Hannah! They really embraced her and helped her to be excited about the dolls too!

  4. I've been waiting for this post. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I can't wait to see the rest of your loot. Next year's convention is closer to me, so I'm thinking of going. You are on my list of ten bloggers I'd love to meet, so I would have been thrilled to meet you in person like Georgia Girl did.

  7. Being able to meet people you have blogged with is one of the greatest joys of conventions and doll shows. It really feels like you are family, even when it's your first meeting. Georgia Girl and I have known each other for many, many years. She is a very sweet lady. I'm so happy for you and your daughter. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to stay in the heavenly bliss of doll conventions? The atmosphere is always electric.

    1. Vanessa, it is the best feeling! It is strange sometimes how you feel you really know someone that you have connected with through the doll blogs. It is even a greater blessing to get to meet them! You are one of my favorite bloggers and I hope to get to meet you someday too! Georgia Girl is such a sweetie and beautiful lady. I was so happy to get to meet her!

  8. Very nice post! Aww, thanks Phyllis!! It was such a pleasure to meet you and Hannah!! I already feel as though I know you all, but to meet in person is the best!!

Now, I need to catch up on all the post. I caught a little cold...I guess from the weather change. It was a little chilly there, but hot here.
