Some New Residents in Hanaly Corners!

I know you have seen my new Tobias Alsford doll from the IT Convention, but I have given him a new name and he has met his dolly match. He is now Tyson Alsford (Tobias's brother) and he found his love in Lavinia Auclair.

Meet Tyson Alsford and his new love, Lavinia Auclair. Lavina is divorced and has a teenaged son. She recently moved to Hanaly Corners.

Tyson is Tobias Alsford's older brother. They are partners in a local law firm in Hanaly Corners. Lavinia was out with one of her gal pals and a local establishment. She met Tyson that evening and I will say that their chemistry way almost instant!

Tyson and Lavinia have been seeing each other exclusively ever since! Yup, here they are getting a little frisky in the kitchen!

Tyson says to Lavinia, "The human has asked us to show the new kitchen she recently purchased from Perfectly Petite."  Lavinia says to Tyson, "Well I am hoping it ends up in whatever house I end up in. I just love it!"

Just for illustration, I added a Barbie frig and the table and chairs from the latest Barbie dining set.

During the Black Friday and Cyber Monday/Week sales, I was on Barbie.com and I did purchase a few new things! I was able to get some of the new Fashionistas. Here is the new AA Ken Fashionista #5, Hip Hoodie!

He is such a handsome young man, don't you think?

His original body is very stiff!

I had purchased an AA Texas A&M Ken to serve as a body swap for him. Here they are checking each other out. Texas A&M Ken looks like he is none to thrill with swapping with the new guy!
Look at this! The neck knob for the new Ken is an unmoveable molded piece! This poor guy can't even rotate his head!

He is really liking this new body! He is Demonte Auclair, Lavinia's 17 year old son!

I purchased this Dena doll a while back when Georgette Taylor was selling the trio. I purchased Dena and a Dawn, but the Dawn has not yet arrived. Anyway, Dena arrived with extremely brittle hair. Her hair fell out when ever I touched it and I noticed that it was falling out in clumps even as she was standing. I proceeded to remove the rest of her hair and was getting ready to get supplies to reroot it when I found this wig. I tried it on her and I loved it! I think she looks absolutely gorgeous!

Here she is wearing an outfit I purchased for Dasia from Vanessa Morrison. Don't tell her Dena has "borrowed" it!
Well, that is it for this post. I am also preparing the final post from the IT Convention which I was supposed to get out weeks ago! Well, we have been busy. I have embarked on a project to get my house and my dolls organized. We are cleaning out boxes of stuff, some doll related, some not. We have shredded tons of old paperwork, moved furniture and put together a doll house. We will be getting our main level painted in January, so I need to organize and purge as much as I can before the painter comes. I do as much as I can, and it feels good as we have made some big accomplishments! I feel that if I can get myself more organized, I will be able to finally get dios put together so I can create more stories which I do want to do!

See you all soon!

  1. I was wondering how you got her hair to look so great until I read it was a wig. LOL Organizing is always refreshing which is why I am always trying to do it. LOL!

  3. First of all, cute couple. I knew that was a Perfectly Petite kitchen when I saw this photo on Flickr. I love the kitchen items that seller makes. So realistic. The second thing (1st being I'm cheap) that has stopped me from buying kitchen cabinets is worrying about where I'd get a stove to go with the cabinets.

Demonte is cute and I'm sure he's enjoying that new body. He can actually do something now. And, poor Dena losing her hair. The wig looks good on her though. I want the chairs from that dining set. I hate that Mattel keeps adding those holes in everything so the items don't fall off. I get it, especially when I'm shooting a scene and I keep knocking everything over. But still, the hole take away from the realistic look. They are trying though.

I can't wait to see more dios and stories.

    1. I have a Tyco Kitchen Little stove that I think will go perfectly after I clean it up and maybe repaint it. I am thinking of giving it a stainless steel look to break up the white, but I might do it in white too. Don't know yet! I also have an extra Sears refrigerator that is more in scale with these cabinets, so I will probably use that. I am thinking of adding an island to go with it too. I will have to wait to see what home I put it in!

Demonte is rocking that new body, isn't he? He didn't have any trouble showing it off, that is for sure! I don't like those holes either, but I did see someone that added a thin plastic or cardboard top to their table to get rid of that look and I think I might give that a try.

  5. Welcome Tyson! He makes a handsome couple with Livinia! Hip Hoodie makes the perfect teenage son. But I'm sure Ken was NOT happy losing his body to him!

    1. I know, it really gave Dena a whole new personality! I actually got those cabinets a month or so before the convention. I have a few other pieces of furniture from Perfectly Petite and I agree, the quality is really nice!

  7. Ah, there is nothing like good chemistry. That's what makes the world go round! Glad to see the dolls finding their place in your stories! I love the new kitchen. I told myself that for 2016 I wanted to start setting up dios and room boxes and I haven't done one single thing this year, lol. I definitely bought a lot of dolls, though! Maybe next year will be better..haha. I love your new Hip Hop fashionista Ken..what a dreamy face! He looks great in his new body. Dena looks like a wonderful lady and I cant' wait to see more about her! So glad to hear the organizing has gone well as I know it makes a world of a difference, just to get things cleared away and cleaned up! Looking forward to more stories! :)

    1. Getting things organized is really hard work, but so worth it in the end. I have to pace myself, but getting something done each day gives me a sense of accomplishment. I am excited about getting both permanent and temporary structures together for story telling. I also want to do a park set up as I am still not brave enough to do doll photos outside!

  8. I have never seen a neck knob like that! They don't want that doll to have any fun.

    1. The first time I saw this type of neck knob was on a $5.00 playline Barbie. I was surprised to see it on the Fashionista guys. Can't get too much stiffer that they are already. The legs also only have back and forth movement, pretty much no side to side. I am so glad I had the Texas A&M body for him!

  9. So many great things in this post. Nice seeing Livonia in her new sweater. I have that one too, but haven't tried it on anyone yet. Love the kitchen cabinets. I'm so jealous that you found a hip hop hoodie doll. I'm still looking. They ought to be a shame giving him that body. Your Dena looks wonderful with her new hair. It seems like a few of the Denas had hair that fell out. Nice of Dasia to loan out her outfit. Looks nice on her.

  10. Yes, I love those new Christopher Banks sweaters! Lavinia looks so nice in it! I ordered my Hip Hoodie guy from Barbie.com. I happened to be on line pretty much the minute they became available for order. They were already backordered by the time I completed my order. I took advantage of the cyber week sale and got him for $7.49 with free shipping. I do love that wig on Dena. It gives her a whole new personality. I am not sure Dasia actually loaned her that outfit as much as Dena just saw it and had to wear it!

AA Ken jest bardzo przystojny! Teraz, na ciałku artykułowanym, to wspaniały chłopak!
Rewelacyjna również jest peruka, którą założyła dama na ostatnim zdjęciu :-)

  12. I love that chemistry! And what a fabulous body swap you've done. We always get these dolls much later in the UK than you do in the USA, but I love that good looking Mr Hip Hoodie!

    1. Sometimes things just click with dolls and the chemistry is undeniable! Hip Hoodie is now starting to show up in our stores, so hopefully, you will be able to get him in the UK soon. He is available on Barbie.com, but I looked at the shipping to Europe and the UK and the charges are astronomical!

  13. PS I just had a look and that Texas A&M doll is going for over £400 on Amazon here in the UK! Ouch!

    1. He is going for pretty high prices here too! One thing I do when I know I like a body for body swaps, is I stock up when they are on sale or I have credits. I got this particular body from a friend who is moving so she was purging her doll collection. She sold him to me for a very low price!

  14. I feel like such a stalker since this post is dated all the way back to 2016! (tehehe..) I could just kick myself for not buying that Ken Fashionista while he was still in stores and at a reasonable price! I never knew that there were fully articulated Ken dolls either. I thought the most articulation they attained was in their arms and sometimes the legs. You learn something new everyday! You did an awesome job with rebodying him, color is spot on!
