2017 Blog Giveaway #2

Right on the coattails of announcing the winner of Giveaway # 1, is the post announcing the 2nd Giveaway item. Be sure to view the previous post to see who won.

Here to help us with the announcement are some old and new residents of Hanaly Corners.

"Hello everybody! Can you guess what we all have in common? You say we are all beautiful -- that is true! But we are also all Curvy gals! We love our curves and before we tell you about this next giveaway item, we would like to tell you a little about ourselves."

Introducing from Left to Right:  "Hi, I am a Curvy Fashionista # 57 Zig Zag. I have have been given a sassy short haircut and the very pink lipstick has been wiped from my lips. I like this look so much better! My name is Sabrina Watson, but you can call me Brini, like the rest of my friends do."

"Well hello, friends! I am a Barbie Basics Red Collection Model #8 which was offered exclusively by Target in 2010. I have been in Hanaly Corners for quite a few years now. I came in 2010! I have had quite a few changes since I have been here. My original body was a Model Muse body. As you know, those are beautiful bodies, but are devoid of much movement as they are pretty stiff bodies. I was given an AA Dynamite Girl Body at first and it was a beautiful body but the color match was not perfect. When the human purchased a Dynamite Girl head that matched that body better, I had another surgery and was put on an Artsy body, even though the skintone was a terrible match. I dressed in turtle neck sweaters so you could not notice it so much. Then, as luck would have it, the human purchased a Pop Life Christie doll and it was a great match for me! I had that body until a few days ago when I saw a  Madame Lavinia doll come in as a body donor and asked if I could have it! Although the body may have been intended for a different doll, since I have been through so much, the human gave in and performed what I hope to be my last operation! I love my new curves! Don't you think they suit me well?! My name is Roxanne Porter, but I prefer Roxy!"

Time for a closeup of Brini and Roxy!
From L to R: Fashionista #37 Sweetheart Stripes, Fashionista # 51 Polka Dot Fun, Barbie Careers Pop Star Doll.
All three girls say at once: "Hello everybody! We all have been in Hanaly corners a while now!"
Sweetheart Stripes: "I have been here the longest of the 3 of us, but have not yet been named. Maybe you can help the human come up with something good! For now, everybody just call me Sweetheart!"
Polka Dot Fun: "I don't have a name yet either, but what can you call a girl whose tag is Polka Dot Fun! What, you say how about "Dot"?? I do kind of like that! so for now at least, I will be called Dot!"
Pop Star: "Well, since you are all giving yourself names, I will give myself one too! You can call me Star because I am one!"
Closeups for Sweetheart, Dot and Star!
Oh, the reason we are here! We need to announce the second giveaway item!
Sweetheart: "I'll handle this ladies. After all, I am front and center! Do you all remember the boys you met for the 1st giveaway item announcement? Well . . ."
Dot interrupts: "Especially that cutie Nicholas! Although I would just love to help him with his hair and get him some new clothes!"
Star: "You can say that again! I could really give him some Pop Star pointers!"
Sweetheart: "I saw him talking to Katie Lamm. I think you missed your chance, Dot!"
Dot: "Umm, Katie is his sister!"
Brini: "Ahh, ladies, we are supposed to be introducing the next giveaway item!"
Dot, Star and Sweetheart step aside as Brini and Roxy point to the box with the giveaway item.
Roxy: "And her it is! A NRFB Lammily Boy Pet Rescuer doll!
Sweetheart: "Ahh, is that Nicholas???!!!
Star: "I don't think so! Maybe his brother or a cousin or something!"
Brini: "No, we still have our Nicholas Lamm in Hanaly Corners. This fellow will go to a lucky winner and they can name him whatever they want too!"Sweetheart gives a sigh of relief!

Roxy: "OK, here are the Rules below!"

  3. I would love to be considered for the giveaway! I want to try customizing a Lammily brand doll but the shipping and initial cost usually are too much for a "wanna customise" doll lol.

Sweetheart Stripes made an appearance on the Barbie vlog youtube series as "Harper" so maybe that could your doll's name too?

And your Barbie Basics Lavinia hybrid looks fantastic and I'm SO hoping Mattel finally starts putting out curvy articulation in darker (and lighter) skin tones...

    1. Oh, I like "Harper" for her! So she is now "Harper". Thanks for the suggestion. After seeing the Ashley Graham OOAK doll they did, I want to get her so bad, but Mattel has not offered her yet. Might have to start a petition! Curvy articulated bodies in at least 5 skintones -- YES!

I would love to see what you would do with a customized Lammily. Your dolls are all so interesting. Your name has been entered. Good Luck!

  4. I would love to enter the giveaway but I live in England - I hope that doesn't disqualify me but the postage might be a bit too high. I already have Boy Lammily, also known as Nick to the lasses in my dollhouse, but I'm thinking of rebodying one of my completely immovable Kens onto his body - potentially Barbie Basic Ken 15. His skin tone might be just a shade darker - not sure if it will work or not. I love Roxy's rebodying!

    Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

  9. Ahhh, there's a Brini leaving in Hanaly's Corner!! She got spunk too! She does look better with the shorter hair and natural lips. So anyway..I think Sweetheart should be names Lynae. It's Scandinavian for small blue flower. "Dot" is the perfect name for that little cutie. I hope she moves to Dotsville soon, she is just as cute as she can be. This is a great prize, please enter me too.

    Good luck Everyone!!

  14. Hi, Phyllis! I love what you've done with the Zig Zag Fashionista. She looks much better with natural lips. The shorter hair gives her a perky look.

Neat to meet your Curvy Collection. They seem to be having a good time, introducing the 2nd Giveaway.

I look forward to meeting your Nicholas Lamm - and seeing who wins the Lammily guy. Yay, Phyllis, for donating the prize and good luck to those in the contest.

    1. I am so glad you like what I did to miss Zig Zag! I think she looks much better with the natural lips too. There was something about those pink lips on her that I didn't like! Things have been crazy busy around here as we had the interior of our house painted. When the painter called to tell me he was available to paint a week earlier than I had expected, I had to work like crazy to get ready for him! The painting is done and we are busy getting things put back together which included shopping for new draperies and some new furniture and rearranging and organizing! Whew! I will announce the winner today and will continue with the giveaway of two more items as promised.
