Yes, I finally got my Star Trek trio! They were back ordered twice even though I ordered them on the day they came out. This always seems to be the case with The Barbie Collection.com now. Anyway, they came on Saturday. So here is a picture of them all:
Commander Spock, Lieutenant Uhura, Captain James T Kirk
Their uniforms are excellent replicas of what they wore in the original series. They all carry Communicators. Kirk has a Phaser and Uhura has a Tricorder. All of these items are true to form from the original series.
Commander Spock is giving the Vulcan salute for "Live Long and Prosper". |
Here are some close up photos of each of the characters:
The sculpt of Commander Spock has done justice to the character. From his pointed ears to the slanted brows, I think Leonard Nimoy would be pleased is he were still alive. |
Lieutenant Uhura is a very good likeness of the character from the original series. The accuracy is spot on right down to the hair and even the earrings. Mattel did Nichelle Nichols proud!
Captain Kirk? I would have to squint a lot to recognize this sculpt as Jame T. Kirk. Mattel did not do such a good job in replicating Bill Shatner's rugged good looks in his hay day of playing the daring Kirk. I was a little disappointed. |
You may be asking, what bodies did they give them! I will warn you that the next couple of photos are of naked dolls, so if this offends you, stop now and don't look any further!
Spock and Kirk have the same body, so I am only showing Kirk here. As you can see, he has the Harley Ken body. Uhura on the other hand, has a similar body to Wonder Woman. |
Her feet are high heeled feet with no ankle articulation |
Her thighs are not articulated. Her knees are Made to Move. |
She has Made to Move arms and Fashionista hands. She does not have a moveable torso. |
All in all, I am pretty happy with these characters. They are pretty good representations of the Star Trek original characters. I am happy I ordered them!
Live long and prosper!
