Outfit for Dasia
Remember my last post where I thought the Lammily outfit Celebrating Denmark looked a bit "frumpy" on my Katie? Well, I thought I would try it on my Dasia. So far, I only had her in a dress made from a sock. Here she is in the Lammily Celebrating Denmark dress:

No frumpiness on her at all! In fact, she looks great in it! The fit in the back doesn't close all of the way, but who needs to see it from the back, right?
The fit is a bit snug in the back - Maybe I can add a piece of black elastic?
I do think this dress looks a whole lot better on Dasia than on Lammily. I thinks she will keep the dress!
The dress looks WAY better on Dasia than on Lammily. Now Dasia's getting her proper Patti LaBelle vibe, where you know she's a legend just from how she walks into the room.
The aren't really that close in size, it is just that they gave this dress so much extra room for Lammily for some reason. Most Lammily clothes won't fit Dasia.
I think HFG can wear a few of the Mixis clothing pieces. From your comparison pics of Lammily and Mixis they seem similar (definitely proportioned diffently) in size.
Also, I read from another blogger that the BBD are made of porous material and some fabrics bleed onto them.
I left this dress on her for a couple of days and no bleeding. I have, however, seen that comment from other owners of the BBD. I usually keep her in a white dress that I cut from a stocking!
I have a Heart Family Grandma and I think she has the same body as the old Barbie body. Are you thinking of the Happy Family Grandma? That body fits Mixis clothes pretty well. I will have to try to see if any Lammily clothes will fit, but I know that the Lammily body has a much longer torso and a bigger butt! I will post pictures if I can make any exchanges between the 2.
I definitely agree. Dasia looks great in this dress. And yes, you can either sew in a bit of elastic or, find a scrap of fabric close in color and sew in a tiny panel in the back and close with Velcro in the back.
Witaj Phyllis! Twój blog jest bardzo piękny i oryginalny! Nie wiem, dlaczego wcześniej nie uczestniczyłam w życiu Twoich lalek! Nadrobię to i będę tutaj stałym gościem! Serdecznie pozdrawiam!
That dress looks stunning on her. As for the open back - make it a design feature as "it's the latest fashion. I designed it that way". I'm glad you are letting her keep it.
Very elegant dress. I like it !

Glad you like it. Now I have to either find or make her some shoes.

ReplyDeleteI agree! So glad I decided to try it on her. Most of the other Lammily clothes won't fit her, but this almost looks like it was made for her.
DeleteIt looks great on Dasia! She's a volouptuous and very elegant lady!
ReplyDeleteYes it does! She is rocking the outfit!
DeleteThe dress looks amazing on Dasia! She should keep it.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteDasia look like she is on her way to a very important business meeting! The dress is a keeper for her!
ReplyDeleteHow about a nice bag to match?
She can probably use the matching bag. Lammily won't have much use for it now.
DeleteAgree, somehow it fits Dasia a lot better. I didn't realize they were that close in size.

DeleteWow, I can't believe how close it came to being a perfect fit for Dasia! It looks great. The style and color suit her.
ReplyDeleteYes, it did. It looks way better on her than it did on Katie (my Lammily doll).
DeleteI agree Dasia wears it best. I need to make something for mine.
ReplyDeleteDo share whatever you end up making.
DeleteLooks great on her. The color is much better on her, too.
ReplyDeleteI agree and she was so happy to get out of the sock dress!
DeleteHello from Spain: fabulous dress. Dania is very smart. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marta!
DeleteI love it on Dasia!
ReplyDeleteYou've started something! My Dasia and Heart Family Grandma may have to pick up a few pieces from the Lammily store!
ReplyDeleteDoes Heart Family Grandma have a fuller figure? I am thinking the Lammily clothes may be a bit big on her. Let me know how it works out.

DeleteThe first rule of fashion is fit and color! She's got both here. Dasia looks better in fitted dresses.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes she does! Thanks for stopping by.
