The 3 Resort Style dolls - Summer, Grace and Barbie |
Here they all are out of the box and dressed |
Here are their sandals |

Next I got Princess Power Ken and Barbie Style Nikki |
And now, out of their boxes! |
I like Nikki's outfit, but her hair is not the best. It is uneven and kind of snarled. I will probably give her a shampoo or maybe a boil perm and try to restyle it. Oh, she also came with a pair of little black boots.

I also got a Barbie Style Grace! |
Close up of Grace. I think she has a very pretty face |
Barbie Style Grace has the full articulation including the jointed ankles. Since I wanted Resort Style Grace to be able to wear her sandals and have full articulation, I gave her this Grace's body. I had a Baby Phat Grace available as a donor, so Barbie Style Grace got that body. Here she is!

Here is Resort Style Grace with Barbie Style Grace's body |
I really like Resort Style Grace with this body. I also love her hair. She may be my favorite Grace now!
I do have a few of the new Fashionistas on backorder from Barbiecollector.com. Starting last year, I stocked up on articulated bodies, so I will be able to give the new Fashionistas articulated bodies when they arrive.
Well, that is it for now!
Thanks for stopping by. I love getting your comments!
Congratulations on all your purchases. I stumbled on to the Grace with flat feet and bought her. I hear she is in demand.
ReplyDeleteThe one with the jointed ankles? Yes, she is in demand. I guess they are starting to show up in the stores now, but I haven't seen her anywhere. I got her at Amazon, but the prices on her have now gone up to about $40 already. Both the Grace and Nikki Style dolls with all the joints are on the Mattel website, but are out of stock. Mattel should take that as a hint that articulated dolls are in demand!
DeleteGreat purchases. Definitely some hit and misses on Mattel's part. The resort dolls are cute. Does stiff legs mean they don't move at all? Not even clickable? If so, why would they do that? I guess they want the dolls to be able to stand on their own. They need to find a better way. And that poor Ken doll. They could have at least bent his arms a little bit. He looks so unnatural standing there. I may have to add one of the Barbie Style with the jointed ankles. That's a nice feature.
ReplyDeleteYeah, totally stiff, not even click knees. At least they don't have the distorted torso. I took the jointed Barbie legs from the Movie Director doll and swapped them to the Barbie resort doll. There is a Nikki Director doll with the jointed legs too, but she is lighter complected than the Grace doll. I wish Mattel wouldn't do that! Dolls with jointed arms and stiff legs, and dolls with jointed legs and stiff arms -- come on, get it right!
DeleteResort Style Grace with her new articulation is EXCELLENT. I think Grace has the best of the new face-ups.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought poor stiff Ken had to be a character from some specific movie, he is sooooo stiff.
Yes, Ken is from Princess Power. Mattel really has cheaped him up. The glasses had to be cut off, and he is totally stiff! I mean, it would be okay if he were a zombie!
DeleteThis is the first I have ever heard of Grace...I love her! She is so pretty. I love seeing all of your new Barbies. I grew up loving barbie and my sister and I played for hours with them. I haven't decided if I want to collect them again as there are so many other dolls on my list, but I may just have to get that Barbie style Grace if I can find her. I have always loved Summer as well and she looks pretty cute with her bangs. :). Xo
ReplyDeleteGrace was originally of the S.I.S. dolls. There was Grace, Kara, Chandra and Marissa. There was also one guy in the line named Darren. Mattel has discontinued the S.I.S. dolls and brought Grace into the Style line up.
DeleteHi Phyllis, they are quite a few! LOL
ReplyDeleteGrace looks great with the new body
Yes, quite a few. I love the Resort Style Grace doll and giving her the new body makes her so much better! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteBarbie Style Grace is really cute. You have started off when a whole slew of dolls. I was in Walmart today and didn't see anything new, not even the 18' doll that want to come live here in Dotsville,.lol. I guess that's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way YOU WON, my birthday giveaway. Yes the glam pool is yours!!
Yes, she is great! I am sorry you didn't find anything in your Walmart -- mine either. I AM very excited that I won your giveaway of the Glam Pool. Now the Resort Style gals will have a place to hang out!
DeleteSolid purchases! I really like Grace - both her face (especially her eyes) and that outfit. Great stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Grace is beautiful. I am glad Mattel decided to keep at least one of the S.I.S. dolls in their line up.
DeleteGRACE - bogini lalek?
ReplyDeleteInca, I don't think Grace has the Goddess sculpt. I am pretty sure it is the Mbili sculpt.
DeleteNice haul! I'm glad to read that you got your dolls before the Amazon prices climbed to ridiculousness- $40 a doll, puh-lease! Resort Grace has my favorite face of the bunch, but I don't think she will be coming to live in Dollton. Right now my sights are set on the new Tris doll from the movie Insurgent. And I shake my head every time I look at that Ken doll in stores. Mattel should be ashamed.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comments about Ken. I have seen some of the Tris dolls at Target on sale. I do love that doll!
DeleteOk lets see. I like Grace and her outfits the best. Except for the swimsuit. I like the best. I am hope you can find a body for Ken's head because I like it! Nice shopping and you couldn't beat the prices...amazon gift card lol
ReplyDeleteMy daughter knows I like to shop on Amazon. Happy for the gift card. Of course, I couldn't wait to spend it and for my favorite hobby!
DeleteHello from Spain: awesome new dolls. I love your purchases. I nee theses dolls in my house... Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteThat's what I said too, I needed dolls! Glad they found their way to my home.
DeleteThey are all so cute. My fav is grace in the grey sweater....I love that sweater. I too have been very disappointed in the Ken outfits.....so, cheap! I made a nice shirt , wasn't as hard as I thought, so I need to make a lot more.......but it is more fun sewing for the ladies😃
ReplyDeleteChris, that is a great sweater, isn't it? I see these dolls are now back in stock at Mattel.com. I also don't know why Mattel is not offering more articulated Ken dolls and why so much of the clothing is so cheaply made. :(
DeleteI haven't seen these in stores yet and probably wont get any, but now that I know they exist, I want to see them in person, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat means you need to come and visit! Of course, I would wait for this latest cold snap to be over! Hmm -- maybe I should visit you in FLORIDA! LOL!
DeleteHi Phyllis
ReplyDeletethey are all lovely ladies, but am in lve with Grace, her hair are amazing in doble color.
I agree with you about the cheaply made is sad :-(
have a nice week with your little ladies
xx
Thanks! I love the double color of Grace's hair too. Having fun playing with dolls! Yes!
Deleteopps i mean in Love with Grace sorry ;-)
ReplyDeleteI knew what you meant! LOL!
DeleteHey Phyllis. Great buys. I agree, the barbie style Grace is really pretty and she has landed on my wish list. The resort dolls are very cool, I like Summer's pants too, Barbie's shorts and hat and Grace's sandals. Too bad we can't mix and match. :)
ReplyDeleteThey have that "My Style" doll, but the choices are very limited. Too bad they don't let you pick the level of articulation (or just articulated Y/N!), the face sculpt, hair and then some really good fashion choices! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSuper cute fashions.
ReplyDeleteYes, they have some great fashions this time. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThank you so much to share with us these new dolls ! Waw !
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! Stop by anytime, I enjoy your comments.
DeleteHi Phyllis. For awhile, I had a serious addiction to the S.I.S dolls. I'm really lucky I bought them when I did because some have natural hair (rare) and one even has a shorter hairstyle (rare) and none of them cost me very much. On the other hand, I've never warmed up to Nicki. I can't say I like the Ken dolls with the molded hair either (except for few vintage dolls). I bought a couple with rooted hair just before they stopped making them. What you can do with your Ken doll's clothes is to take them apart and use for a pattern to make better clothes! Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of the S.I.S. dolls with shorter hair, but I do have a few with the more natural hair. Good idea about taking apart Ken's clothes and using them as a pattern.
ReplyDeleteNice purchases. I like that Barbies have finally jointed ankles. They have also great sandals.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I think the new ankles give them so much more poseability and I love that they now have flat shoes and sandals too!
