Clothing Alternatives for Lammily Doll

While I did order some outfits for my Lammily doll (now Katie), I just could not leave her in those shorts! Just too cold here in Michigan.  So I looked through some of my action figure clothes to see if I could find her something else to wear. I had this brown knit dress from Triad. And, since I didn't think it would look good with her tennis shoes, I tried some low heeled pumps from Triad and low and behold, they fit her!

Front view of Triad dress & shoes. A little low cut, but I think a pretty good fit.
Side view of Triad dress & shoes. I think the length is good and it fits her curves nicely!
Back view of Triad dress and shoes. She even looks good from behind!

Next up I tried on some action figure jeans I got from OJIT. The ladies jeans would not come over her butt, so I tried on the men's jeans! They worked. Then I put on Ken's blue turtleneck sweater. The results:

It took a little bit to pull them up and I had to work a bit to snap them (kind of like my own jeans!). The are a little long, so I folded to bottom to make "cuffs".
Here is the side view. BTW, I bend her legs 1 click and she could stand on her own at long enough to take these pictures!
And finally, the back view!. Not bad! Oh, she cannot sit in these jeans unless you unsnap them, but this at least gives her something else to wear.

What do you guys think?!

  1. Not bad at all. Hmmm...something's missing in the first photo. I know...a hot date! The jeans sort of look like she's rockin' the boyfriend jeans look, but the sweater makes her look dumpy imho.

    1. I agree! I need for her to meet a nice guy. I think I may have to make her some clothes. I have this salmon colored stretch denim from my daughters jeans that I think I can make some nice pants from. and maybe a scoop neck sweater made from socks??? She needs to show off her figure!

  2. The dress and shoes look great on her, I agree too, she's ready to go out on a date looking like this! The jeans are looking good too, and I think if the collar of the sweater would be a little bit shorter, it would look great, I guess Ken has a longer neck :-).

    1. Haha, yes Ken has a long neck! I don't mind the neckline so much - she looks ready for winter in it!

  3. Solid clothes-sharing finds! It's always good to see what opportunities there are for these non-standard sized dolls.

  4. Good ideas on the clothes and shoes. I don't think the dress is too short at all. It's just right. I like that you can make her stand. I never understood why Barbie has to rock heels every day. I also don't understand why she has to have all of these frilly dresses. I'm an every day girl and I like for my dolls to be too.

Katie is going to look good as you build her wardrobe.

  5. Hi Phyllis, the Triad dress fits her really fine, in fact the dress shows she can be quite a sexy girl! The jeans looks ok. As far as the turtleneck goes, well she looks like me on very cold days when I wear these huge oversize turtleneck sweaters with only my eyes showing ....LOL

    1. I do the same thing with my sweaters! When you live in a cold climate, sometimes you have to give in to function over fashion!

  6. She looks great in the dress! I think she looks fine in the sweater as well. The dress just makes her look more girlie. I can't wait to see who you pair her up with.

    1. Yes, those are the shoes I have on her (the low heels, but she could also probably wear the mid heel!) Of course, that means the other colors will fit her too!

  13. The dress and the jeans look good. I would pass on that turtleneck if I were her. Maybe a heavier weight tee shirt with a silky draped scarf instead?

Congrats on finding a good pair of heels for her and thanks for sharing the brand.

(Thanks, Shasarignis, for the Vantage Collectibles link.)

Phyllis, I think you've done good for Katie ;-)

  14. I love your wardrobe ideas for Katie. I have a Lammily that I have been making some clothes for too. One is a knit dress. You can see them here if you care to look. http://www.pinterest.com/odonnajean/my-dolls/ Dolls are so much fun to sew for because you can finish things so quickly.

  15. Hi Phyllis, Sorry it has taken me so long to find my way to your blog. Indeed it is quite interesting. This is the first post I've seen where Lammily is in something other than the promo pictures. She's not the kind of doll I collect, but it is certainly interesting to see how she looks redressed. After Barbie's svelte proportions, I'm sure was a challenge, but you've done a great job styling her.
