I Got a Ruruko!

Some of you may remember that a Ruruko doll was the top item on my Grail list. She sells out very quickly when they go on sale from Petworks, so they are quite expensive in the secondary market. I found one on eBay that was going for a reasonable price. Although she was nude, I jumped on the Buy It Now option and she arrived in my home yesterday. I dressed her in a mini AG dress and shoes. Isn't she adorable?

She very quickly made friends with my homemade Ruruko (the Momoko/Pure Neemo hybrid).

Before I found the Ruruko doll, I had ordered several Licca heads to go on the XS Pure Neemo bodies I had previously purchased.  I now have 5 new girls and 1 new boy for Ruruko to be friends with.

Ruruko is so happy to be meeting so many new friends. They all cannot wait to get their names and find out what families they will be in. In the meantime, I think they will have fun playing with one another!

    1. The are really cute, but hard to get clothing over. Good thing the come off! They are called "jazz hands" and are what comes with the Pure Neemo bodies.

  2. Oh they are adorable! The mini American Girl dresses make great clothes for them, even though they are a little short, dont they? I was racking my brains the other day for an Alice dress and saw myself having to sew (shudder ) at the last minute until I desperately decided to steal Nellie's dress and Kit's shoes. lol it worked! I might start buying up more of these clothes on ebay for her. They look great on her for now. These little dolls are like potato chips, you can't stop at one!

    1. Yes, those Mini AG dresses work out really good. I am going to have to break down and do some sewing though! BTW, I saw your post on the "Tea Party" and Alice looked so cute in her outfit! I know what you mean about these little dolls and potato chips, LOL!

  10. Hi Phyllis!
How wonderful to get one of your "Grail" dolls! :)
I love the idea of using the XS Pure Neemo bodies for the LIcca heads. I had been holding off on getting a Licca just due to their limited articulation, but now I see there's a great solution for that! Where do you find those bodies...Amazon?
Your new Ruruko is soooo cute. I had never heard of this type of doll before so I think I will look her up to see what she's all about!
    :)

    1. Isn't she just adorable?! I got the Pure Neemo bodies from customdollsparty2011 on eBay. He offers free shipping and is very good to deal with. The Ruruko dolls are quite expensive on the secondary market. They are made in Japan and she is the little sister to Momoko. She is delightfully cute. I have now registered with Petworks and get notifications when they have a new doll available. I was able to order another direct from Petworks for my birthday (July 13). Note that they sell out pretty fast!

  13. She is super adorable! I love her hair and how it's styled. You have quite a collection going there. I recently bought a Licca head, but haven't found a suitable body yet. To be honest, I haven't had time to look for a body.

    1. Oh, I know it, Vanessa -- she is so, so cute! You could probably put a Licca head on an Obitsu body too, but I really like them on the Pure Neemo body.

  14. You have an adorable collection! I love your Ruruko!
Do you know if she can wear Licca shoes? That would make shoes for her at a very available price!

  15. They look fabulous on those Pure Neemo bodies! The plastic shades match so well! I like Momoko-hybrid's dress too; looks like those mini American Girls come in handy sometimes.

    1. Thanks! I really like those Pure Neemo bodies. They have some in larger sized too, so I was thinking of getting a medium to see how a Barbie body would look on it. I also have some small Pure Neemo bodies that I have used for Skipper sized dolls. They are available in a darker skin tones too.

  16. Hello!
Really awesome dollies and photo shoot.
I just wanted to ask if you could tell me what head is on the boy body. I found similar ones in the Licca line, but none is quite this good. And I desperately need it in this size (smaller than Licca's head.)

    Thanks in advance!

    1. I got him off of EBay in 2015. He was just listed as a Licca Boy head. The seller was musttoy. I have also purchased the Licca Chan Boy dolls from Amazon, but these are a little more because they are usually new in box.Good luck!

  17. Hello, the dolls are really adorable, especially in their cute outfits. Could you tell me where did you get the clothes - shorts and shoes for the boy?

    1. Wow, I posted this 2 years ago, so I am doing my best to remember. The shoes I got from a seller on eBay who sold stuff for Pure Neemo. The shirt was on a random older Stacie doll that I had and the shorts were either Only Hearts Club or Mattel -- I am not sure. Quite often I will used shorts made for Barbie and longer pants for these dolls. I have a lot of clothes in my stash, so I often don't remember where I get them from!

  18. OK, thank you so much. I'll try to find something, it's hard to get second hand barbie clothes here in Slovenia, people just throw them away or charge ridiculously high prices for them. :(
