W Club Registration Dolls, City Shine Barbies and Latest Fashionistas

I have had these dolls for a while now, but have just gotten around to taking pictures of them. First up are the W Club Registration dolls. Since this is my first year in the W Club, I took full advantage of this opportunity.

Yup, I got all 3 of the registration dolls. Aristocratic Agnes, Groovy Galore Poppy Parker and Vice Effect Ollie Lawson.

At first, I was on the fence about getting Aristocratic Agnes. But, I knew this would be my only chance to get her and besides, if she arrived and I didn't like her, I could always sell her. Well, when she arrived and I opened the box to this beauty, I was glad I decided to order her as she definitely did not disappoint. She has a beautiful face, lovely dress and gorgeous blonde hair. Below is a close up of her face.

Next is Groovy Galore Poppy Parker. This is only my second Poppy Parker doll. I also have a Poppy Parker as Corrie Bratter. I am just starting to see the appeal of this doll. I do also have a Darla Daly and Kimiko Gunn from the Poppy Parker line, but I now have 2 actual Poppys! I don't think she will be my last! (Of course she won't as I have 2 more on order - Mood Changers and Hippy Dippy!)

The last doll of the registration dolls is Vice Effect Ollie Lawson. He definitely is modeled after Don Johnson of the old Miami Vice series. He is a handsome blonde fellow and he already has many of my ladies talking about him. They are not exactly thrilled that he arrived with a woman on each arm, but I am sure they won't let them stand in their way! Just look into those baby blue eyes and I dare ya not to swoon!

From Barbiecollector.com, I ordered all 4 of the 2015 City Shine Barbies and the latest Grace and the Redheaded Fashionistas. I have not yet deboxed the Barbie City Shine doll, so I did not photograph her at this time.

"Purple" has the Aphrodite face mold and the most glorious curly red hair. I rebodied her on a hybrid body from a Resort Style Barbie and the legs from a Barbie Director. Usually, I am not able to get the Model Muse dresses on a regular Barbie body, but in this case, the dress fits just fine. "Red" has the Lea/Kayla face mold and has been rebodied on an Elvis Barbie Pivotal body. I love her hair, which has been shampooed and conditioned. "Pink" has the Pazette face mold and has been rebodied on a Style Grace body. Her dress also fits her very well on her new body.

I also got the 2 latest Barbie Fashionistas from Barbiecollector.com. The latest Grace and the new Redhead.

The Redhead has been rebodied on a Style Barbie body and Grace has been rebodied on a Baby Phat Grace body.

Here are some additional shots of the dolls from Barbiecollector.com.

"Red" is long and lanky! I just love this outfit! She will fit right in with the other models in Hanaly Corners.

Grace and "Pink" stop to pose for a picture together.

These 2 redhead look like they might be related! Maybe sisters?!

"Purple" stops to pose for an individual shot. She is very beautiful after all!

Uh oh, "Pink" saw this new fellow arrive and she grabbed onto him right away. This is Djimon Hounsou from "The Guardians". Hmmm, do you think she will be able to keep him to herself once they join the other residents of Hanaly Corners???

  1. Well, well, well...I see you've been making room for lots of new residents. I would love to read an end-of-year post on what you thought about being a W Club member. I'm considering it for next year. The pink city shine doll was my least favorite in the promo pics, but is the one I like best of all in real life. Love the redheads, especially the one with the denim and print dress.

    1. Yes, I have been a bad girl! It is getting pretty crowded in Hanaly Corners. So far, I have not been disappointed with the W Club. When the first group of lottery dolls came up, I put my name in the hat for 4 dolls. I was shocked to have won 3 of them. I really didn't expect that. Those dolls are still on the way, so the population is about to increase again!

  2. I have been thinking of getting that short haired barbie basics model and the fashionista with the red hair, but have always stopped because it means more bodies. I may go ahead and take the plunge because they are both so darn cute and I need filler people for the town. The last two make a really cute couple.
Sometimes I wish on the basics dolls they would just do regular clothing like they did on the jeans wear- that was so marvelous. These overmetallic clothes make the dolls look cheap when a nice regular outfit makes them look more 'real' that is what was so appealing about the basics line in the little black dresses and jeanswear.

    1. I am with you about the clothing on the Barbie Basics dolls lately. I would also prefer some well made "regular" clothing over this shiny stuff. I will definitely be redressing these ladies, so next time they are photographed, they should have names and roles in Hanaly Corners.

  4. Wonderful dolls Phyllis, I'm enchated with Purple's hair, I love red headed dolls!
I'm tempted to add a new Poppy too, but can't make up my mind, I arrived late to order Spring Song, and now I don't know if I'm willing to pay the price on the secondary market.
    Djimon is so handsome!!!

    1. I am glad you like my newest residents. I am really taking advantage of my W Club membership! I got Djimon from Monkey Depot and got the tall COO Model AA body. He is now nice and tall! I have kind of fallen in love with the Poppy Parker line. I also ordered the extra Poppy Bodies IT offered to W Club members so when Mood Changer Poppy arrives, I plan on giving the extra heads permanent bodies!

    2. I made a huge mistake not to renew my membership this year, besides the wonderful dolls I would have loved the chance to get a lot of Poppy extra bodies and try to rebody my favourite MM girls.....
Can't wait to see the pictures of your new Poppys!
Djimon looked suspiciously tall...I should have guessed that the COO Model AA bodies had arrived! LOL

  6. Witaj Phyllis, gratuluję Ci zakupu nowych lalek!
    Serdecznie pozdrawiam!

  8. Djimon is one sexy man with a sexy voice and accent. "Pink" may have to do some fighting to keep her man.

I have been seeing 'Red' with the Lea/Kayla sculpt. I think I'm going to have to break down and get her. I love her cute and how it outlines her face.

    1. "Pink" is trying to keep Djimon from going down the the main part of town (in my basement) cuz she knows there are a lot of beautiful women down there just waiting for a good looking man! After shampooing and conditioning "Red's" hair, I like her even more! Boy I am gonna have to come up with names for these ladies besides their color designations. I don't want those names to stick!

  9. My, my, my.....what a handsome addition to your family!!! The new FR dolls are simply gorgeous. I like the Barbies as well, but you are right about the metallic clothing. One of the things I liked about the first Barbie Basic Black Label dolls were those wonderfully made, tasteful black dresses. My guess is that Mattel is trying to straddle the fence to appeal to both play-line and collector customers. Looking forward to seeing future posts with your new dolls!

    1. Thanks, April! I am happy that I decided to join the W Club. They have some really great dolls. From what I have seen so far, IT is really aiming to please and they are rocking it with their new dolls. I do still like Barbie dolls, of course, but am holding out for the new faces that are coming from the Fashionista line.

    1. The Barbie Collector dolls ARE pretty sellar indeed. I thind the Lea doll is my favorite. Just wish Mattel would articulate them!!!! Those tall pivotal bodies are getting really expensive on the secondary market -- Mattel could be putting some money in their own pockets instead of it landing in someone elses! Mattel, get a clue!
