The IT Super Model Convention - We Are Back (Part 3 -- Finally)!

Well, we now have the new furnace in and good thing as it is getting cold here! It is supposed to snow this weekend. We will be nice and cozy warm at home with this new furnace! Anyway, I thought it was about time I did my next post from the IT Supermodel Convention.

First I will show you the dolls I got at the Style Lab. I mentioned these in my 2nd Convention post, but did not have photos of them yet. Here goes!

Ace McFly wearing "Hypnotize", Tobias Alsford wearing "Mr. Vain", Preston Woods wearing "Come As You Are"

Here they all are a bit closer up. Aren't they handsome? Preston Woods is new this year.
Dree Hill wearing "All That She Wants"

Dree Hill's close up!
Next up are the 2 grab bag dolls I purchased. Actually, I had gotten one for Hannah and one for me, but Hannah did not like either one of them. She "gave" hers to me. To be honest, I was pretty disappointed in them both when I first opened them up. I did not like the dresses they were wearing, so I thought maybe I would like them better if I redressed them in clothes I bought on the last day when you could go back and buy whatever was left. I am kicking myself now that I did not buy Laka O'rion and Blue Burkhart from the Style Lab. They were so gorgeous, but I was trying not to spend too much! Here are the grab bags dolls after they have been redressed.

I have no idea who they ladies are, so if you know, please let me know. The one on the left is wearing "Crazy Sexy Cool" and the one on the right is wearing "School Spirit". The shoes are for Color Infusion feet, so are a bit big for these girls, but they work for now.

And their closeup!
We had gone to a couple of the private sales rooms while waiting for the Thursday evening event and I purchased just one doll. She was a grail doll for me, so I was so excited to be able to get her at a reasonable price! She is a Unoa doll!

Unoa in school uniform

Just look at that face! I think she is absolutely gorgeous!

She is able to pose in many positions. She is available from the same company as Momoko (but not easily!), but her posing is so much better! Here you see her sitting with her legs tucked under.

Just one more of her seated in a chair. Oh look how close she can bring her hand to her face! She could talk on the phone!
Later in the week, Hannah settled on purchasing the Erin from the 2014 Convention (she was the Welcome Bag doll from the Gloss Convention). She had seen her in the same room as the seller I purchased Unoa from, but she had on mismatched shoes and an outfit Hannah didn't like so much. She was priced fairly high, so Hannah wanted to wait. We found one in perfect condition the next day, and she was $15 less than the first one and she was in her original outfit! I was very proud of my little girl! Here she is!

2014 Gloss Convention Welcome Doll Erin purchased by Hannah at Supermodel Convention

Erin's closup! I think she is just stunning! Great selection, Hannah!
Friday night was the Bazaar where there were a lot of table sales. We didn't buy any new dolls at the Bazaar, but we did get some clothing and other accessory items. I will post a  photo of these in the last post with the table gifts.

Saturday was a huge day! The Saturday luncheon was the Exclusive W Club Luncheon. As not everybody at the convention is in W Club, this luncheon is just for members. Since Hannah is not a member, she stayed back in the room and worked on her homework and ate lunch. This event did not disappoint. I was seated with new tablemates, but did see a few people from my convention table at the event. Here are a couple of photos from that event!

My tablemates. It was quite a fun group. The 2 guys in the 1st photo kept "accidentally" knocking the doll off of the motorcycle. He re-positioned her in some very interesting poses throughout the event!

W Club Luncheon Centerpiece Doll, Full Speed Erin S./NU Face. The motorcycle was not a part of the doll we could purchase, but one lucky tablemate did win the opportunity to purchase it! Below is the stock photo of Erin S. from IT.

There was a Q&A panel with the IT designers and they answered many questions that had been previously sent in by W Club members, even if they were not able to attend the convention. A key new bit of information was that after all of the negative comments they had received about the decal eyes, they were immediately going to discontinue the use of them. They are still searching for a more economical way of applying the eyes, so we will have to wait and see what they come up with.

Here are some photos from that event:

Before we left, we were presented with the W Club Luncheon Giveaway doll.

Here she is! Checking In Colette D./NU Face.

Checking In Colette D. has a newly revamped face. I don't have any Colettes in my collection, so I really don't know what she looked like before. What I can tell you is that she is stunning now! She is one of my top 3 favorite dolls from this convention!
OK! I think that is it for this post. Again, if you are keeping track, this adds 3 new dolls for me and one for Hannah. We had already included the 3 male Style Lab dolls, the 2 grab bag dolls and Unoa for a previous total of 19. Adding the 2 W Club Luncheon dolls and the Dree Hill doll now makes a total of 22 new dolls from this convention. In the next post I will show you the final dolls from the Saturday night Gala finale and the stuff we purchased from the bazaar as well as table gifts we received.

I have a few more photos to take, so I will see you in a day or two with the final convention post!

    1. Me too! It is like discovering these all over again! One more post on this topic and I think I will be done. Only a couple of more to show. It was a good thing we got our new furnace when we did. It is snowing here today!

  2. That is a lot of doll purchases. How tall is Unoa? She looks tall in the photo. Good for Hannah waiting to find a deal. I love a good deal! I really wanted that Tobias, but the day he went up for sale on the site, he was gone in minutes. Oh well, I have two from last year, maybe I'll bald one of them.

    Good post.

    1. Yes, Jaye, it was a lot, but it was also so exciting! I am seeing so many of these dolls listed on ebay for prices way over the price paid at the Convention. I am even shocked at what people charge for the giveaway dolls! Tobias is a hot guy isn't he? I have seen others bald the previous version of him and he looks great. Unoa is 11 inches tall, which is about the same height as Momoko. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Love your new dolls, even the grab bag dolls. Would have been interesting to see the dresses they came in. You are right. That new Colette is stunning. The old Colette was a beautiful doll, too. I have one, but it's been so long since I've shown her, I'm sure you don't remember. She is AA. I may put her in a new story soon. Whew, 22 dolls!

    1. The grab bag dolls have definitely been growing on me. Yes, 22 dolls is a lot of new dolls. I am thinking that I definitely need to sell and/or donate some dolls (but not these!). Remember 6 of the dolls were gift dolls and I did pay for the Convention collection in installment over the course of about 7 months, which softened the blow! I would love to see your Colette in a story!

  5. You really have scored some great dolls. I am so glad you enjoyed your trip too. I was hoping to be in Detroit for Thanksgiving without the thought of snow but hey, that MI weather.

    1. You never know what the weather is going to be like here! We had snow yesterday and today, but it didn't really stick. It looks like it will be rain for Thanksgiving! How long will you be in Detroit?

  6. Great post, Phyllis. You've written up this convention in such a way I feel as though I was there. Wow, that's a lot of dolls you came away with. I have seen many of them on eBay. I suppose many people buy extra to sell as a way to help cover the cost of their trip(?) In any case, that event looks like so much fun.

    1. Glad I could take your there! 😉 Yes, many people do sell them on eBay, but I as sad to see that they charge so much for them! I mean I have seen some of the dolls that were Giveaways from the convention go for $200 to $300. Crazy! But I am keeping all of mine! Who knows if I will be able to go to another convention!

  7. 22 dolls...my, my, my! Well, it's pretty clear that you two had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing. It's fun to read about the experience of a first-time attendee. I'm thinking about attending the Orlando convention since it's within driving distance. Maybe I'll see you there.

  8. I adore convention photos. So much to see and admire. I loved the CI fashions for the females this year but found the male fashions unusual (grunge to see-through shirts (and a skirt!) - not good looks, imo). Thanks for posting your experience, really loved it.

  9. I agree with you about the CI male fashions. Some really weird fashions. I like the pants that Tobias Alsford has on, but the jacket was a good fit for one of my Phicen ladies. The female fashions were much better!

Can you please do a review of your new Unoa doll? She is gorgeous!! I'd be curious to see how big she is next to Barbie/Skipper sizes. Congrats on getting one of your "grail" dolls-just so exciting! What a great experience for you and your Hannah..how fun that she collects dolls as well. Sounds like she knows what she likes and that is great! Hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas. :)

  12. Thanks for sharing your IT Convention photos and experiences. I almost felt like I was there. Your reactions are fun to hear. I also enjoy seeing your new dolls. Vicarious enjoyment, lol, so much cheaper than buying and finding room for new dollies. Plus I get to see how they look in real life as opposed to promo photos.

    1. Ha ha, I know exactly what you mean! I have been enjoying others convention attendance vicariously for a couple of years now, but it was so much nicer (albeit so much more expensive!) to go in person. There were a lot of people there who go every year no matter where it is. I don't know how they do it.
