What Happened to January???

Somebody please tell me where January went! I cannot believe it is already February and I haven't even done one blog post yet in 2017! I want to tell you that it is not because of my health this time! I have just been extremely busy. Alyssa was home from college for a month at Christmas time, so we spent a lot of time together just hanging out, shopping, talking watching movies together and so on. I am going to be getting my house interior painted, so I have been doing a lot of rearranging, organizing and purging of things I don't use anymore. I have been trying to organize the dolls. I keep most of my dolls in the basement, but I have a lot of dolls in my bedroom too. Here are few photos of the dolls I have in my room:

These are the ones on top of my armoire. I know you can't see them all!
I was trying to organize the dolls I put on Made to Move bodies -- these are all standing on my window ledge!
Here they are in sections so you can see them a little better.

I also just put together one of those cubicle shelves in my room and I have already loaded it up with dolls. I didn't take any photos of that yet though!

I also got a doll from my girls for Christmas. They gave me the Luciana Barbie! She is really pretty, but there were some things about her that I did not like.

Here she is out of the box. I don't quite get the white skirt. It almost looks like a doily and would be more suited to a country girl. Just doesn't seem to go with the night club dancer look! I hate to say it, but it looks like some you would use to cover up a roll of toilet paper or Kleenex box!
Here she is without the skirt. Her dancer/entertainer outfit is made of plastic. I was disappointed to see that the corset part of the ensemble was glued to her body. I saw photos on Flickr of someone who had tried to remove her outfit and it was quite a mess. I don't know if she ever got ever got it all off or not. I know it was basically destroyed in the process though! I did not attempt it!

Here is a close up of her face. She is stunning!
Not to be deterred, I decided to keep her costume on her body and I did a body swap for her to an Orange Top Made to Move doll. She quickly adapted to this body and has been redressed!

Ahhh, that feels better!
She was quick to thank her donor!

So what is next for my blog? I have not forgotten about my annual give-a-way. I have already purchased the items, so that will be coming up soon. I will again be giving away 4 or 5 different items!

I still want to do stories. I have been working on the continuation of the Carter-Winthrop saga and have stories in my head about the Gordon clan. There are many new residents in Hanaly Corners and some new places too. I appreciate those of you who do write stories regularly as I realize how much work goes into it.

So stay tuned! The first giveaway item will be posted this weekend!

    1. She does, doesn't she? I hired a painter to do the painting as I have 16 foot walls is the main area (the kitchen, livingroom and dining room are all one big open room). Plus, there is a lot of drywall repairs need and that was more than I could handle. It will be really disruptive for a while!

  2. You have a beautiful collection! I have never seen the Fashionistas displayed together. I am still on the fence about Luciana. I want her for her head, but I am having a hard time forking over the money just for that. Thanks for sharing the info, because I was not aware that her corset was plastic and non removeable. Maybe I will add her to my birthday wishlist and have someone else purchase her for me. Lol! By the way, orange top looks great in Luciana's outfit.

    1. Thanks, Georgia Girl! When I started getting everybody out of the boxes I had them in and started lining them up, I was shocked at how big my collection had gotten. And these are only the ones in my bedroom! I have a ton more in my basement, which is where I have the doll houses and other dios.

    1. She actually was sold out on Barbie Collector. You might be able to pick her up on the secondary market, but I would imagine she will be pretty expensive!

    1. Thanks, Lisa! I probably need to sell some dolls, but I have a hard time picking which ones to let go of! Luciana does look great on the MTM body, but I wish they hadn't glued on her outfit because it makes her original body useless to me!

  5. So nice to see some of your collection. They are so nicely displayed. Luciana has a beautiful face! I'm glad it dawned on you to put her on a different body. Now when she wants to be a dancer, her outfit is still in tact.

We better cherish each day, because we are going to look up and it will be December again.

    1. Thanks, Vanessa! Since I have been feeling a lot better these days, I have been doing a lot around my house to take advantage of it! I am doing the photoshoot today for the first giveaway so I can get it posted. Time is just flying by so fast and my daughters are growing up so fast. I spend as much time with them as I can with their busy schedules! When Alyssa comes home from school, I grab every minute she will give me!

  8. Long time, no see, Phyllis. Always great to see a post from you. I'm looking at the scene in your bedroom and laughing....because it reminds me of mine. Different dolls, same mob scene!!!! I didn't look carefully at your Luciana doll to see that the corset was painted on. It looks similar to something someone in Thailand had designed for a doll but in that case, the Carnival outfit was real. In any case, it's good you've decided to keep the original body because the doll can always go to Rio for CARNIVAL!!!!!

    1. The Carnival outfit is plastic and glued on. They should warn you! Sometimes I wake up at night and think I see some of them changing places!

  10. Luciana has a beautiful face, but I'm not super thrilled about her outfit either. Your collection is huge! And I've spotted that you've rebodied Fashionista 34 B-Fabulous. Did you use the Asha body? I need to get my hands on a spare one then.

  11. It was so sweet of your daughters to give you Luciana. She beautiful. A lot of people have complained about her playline quality, which I understand, but she's lovely.

You have so many dolls. It must be nice to be able to look around and just enjoy seeing them. How cool.

  15. Hi! Amazing body swap for Luciana, congrats :) Did you try take off her corset? I heard it's glued to her body, is that true?

    1. Yes, it is glued to her body! I saw photos on Flickr of her with it removed and it left the body quite a mess although I think she eventually was able to get the residue off of the body. After seeing her photo's, I decided that rebodying her was a better choice for me.
