Hello Dolly Friends!

I know it has been a while since I last posted, but that doesn't mean I have been idle in terms of dolls! No way! I have purchased a few more of the Fashionista in that time and have been diligently working on my new doll room. So, over the next few posts, I will give you updates on what is happening with that project!

First, here are some photos of the new Kens I got.

Fashionista Kens from L to R: #13 Distressed Denim-Broad, #9 Plaid on Point-Slim, #10 Classic Cool-Original, #12 Chill in Check-Broad, #11 Hyped on Stripes-Slim and #8 Cameo Comeback-Broad

As is true to my nature, I have rebodied most of them onto poseable bodies. I mean, you know I can't have dolls without articulation, right????😁 Here is a little detail on who got what body.
Plaid on Point on a Liv Jake Body. I rebodied him so fast, I didn't take a before photo!

He is not a bad looking fellow, right? BTW, the skintone match is better in person.

Here he is under different lighting.
Classic Cool is on a Fashion Royalty AA Homme Body

He didn't fit into the Ken pants, so he has a pair of Action Figure pants from eBay. Note, I also didn't take any before photos of him on his original body. His skin tone match is better in person too.

Hyped on stripes also got immediately rebodied, so no before photos. He is on an Ever After High Hunter Body

As you can see, this is very good skintone match for him. He also fits well in the Slim Ken clothes.

Cameo Ken was given a Mattel Superman body from the Batman vs Superman movie. He will get new more relaxed hands soon.

He does look great on this body, doesn't he? He is wearing Texas A&M Ken pants, which fit this body nicely.

Here he is on his original body.

#13 Distressed Denim (aka "Man Bun" Ken) Before Rebody

Distressed Denim on a World Box AT012 Body (What a hunk!) He has had no problem attracting ladies with this new body!

Note: Chill in Check did not have a body match in an articulated body, so I am working on a few options for him!

Stay tuned!

  1. It's great you found matches. I find that so hard to do for the males. Oh my, Distressed Denim is such a hunk. Whew!

    1. I got some ball joints from HobbyLink Japan and I am going to try to use those to give joints to the pale body. I also found a jointed pale male body on ebay, but it has the old style neck, but I am going to try "surgery" to swap out the necks. I will share that process if it works! And yes, Distressed Denim is now such a hunk, I just had to show him without his shirt! Besides, he couldn't wear his original shirt on this body (too hunky!). He has an action figure shirt on now. I am thinking of giving him some facial hair too!

  2. Plaid on Point looks cute, actually, on that body :-). It suits his smiling face. All the boys look very good with their articulated bodies! What a difference it can make! I'm experimenting myself with some male action figure and other bodies, still have a lot to learn :-).

    1. Initially, I too was hestitant about doing body swaps, but have learned a lot from people I follow like John Pickles, Vanessa Morrison (RIP), and many others. Now, I do it all the time and I have become braver about performing other more difficult body swaps! It is indeed a process!

  3. I always love the posts where we get to see what kind of body swapping you've done. Nice work on the guys! I know my ladies wish I'd get some more fellas, too. I did find a hunky Asian Power Team guy without gloves on Amazon. I need to photograph him. I promise to get back to posting this month. I also found some PT guys at my Kroger, and a few didn't have gloves- yay!

    1. As you know, articulated bodies are so much nicer for posing especially if you are telling stores! I am glad that I inspire you as you are also an inspiration to me. I've been getting caught up on the "Westenders" and am inspired, after I get my new doll room together to really start working on my stories too!

  6. Hi Phyllis!
Great job on the body swaps! I think I mentioned that I re-bodied Chill n Check on a Justin Beiber body. It makes him a little shorter than Ken, but the skin tones are pretty close. :-)

    1. Hmm, I do think that would be a good match for this guy, but I don't have any more JB bodies right now! Another good match is the Lord of the Rings Legolas Ken, so I am on the lookout for one of those at a reasonable price too!

  8. Great post! It is nice to see that there are other body options for them. I do not have as many fashionistas guys because I did n't know that I had these options. Thanks for sharing!!

  9. Glad I saw your post! Great Job! I too have rebodied many of my males too but I was inspired to do my Plaid on Point on a Hunter Huntsman after see your post! Did the black pants fit? I found they didn't on the HH body. the legs are too tapered. I had my Hyped on stripes one one. I don't know what will happen with the new Broad AA male comes out this year. There are so few articulated AA male bodies with the pivotal neck.

    1. No, the Slim pants do not fit on any of these bodies. I know what you mean about not having good articulation options for the AA male bodies. If I find anything, I will post it.

  11. Interesting!!!!! I, like the others, am skeptical about rebodying male dolls because it's hard to find bodies and sometimes the heads don't fit. So I really applaud you for finding new bodies that work. Your guys all look quite buff!!!

    1. I sometimes have to add duck tape to the neck knob of an AF body to make them work for a Ken head. I get a lot of hints from fellow collectors and it is a trial and error process, but I usually can make it work in the end and think the results are worth it.

  12. Congratulations on finding suitable poser bodies for your Ken Fashionistas. Mine are still on their original stiff bodies. And boxed. Need to debox ....

Thanks for sharing which bodies you used for the new heads.

    1. Thanks! I usually debox pretty quickly, but will admit that I have a few boxes sitting in the closet that haven't been opened yet. Makes it feel like Christmas every day when you have a few to open up waiting for you!

  14. Hello, I tried the headswap with hunter huntsman and the slim ken. I was wondering how you got the head to stay on without it bobbling?
